AMEX Brighton - A great Day - Risk taking and Creativity

East Sussex AMEX March 2019

Inspiring. Delegates were particularly interested in his exploration of ‘curriculum intent’ and using stories as springboard for learning. Delegates also appreciated his enthusiasm and real life examples from settings. ‘Great delivery Very interesting and funny, enjoyed listening to his ideas and have developed my knowledge further.’ ‘I have ordered a book today by Neil as I was so inspired.’ ‘A really good reminder to be very ambitious in terms of the vocabulary we use. Neil really is very engaging and humorous, yet he delivers powerful points which challenged my thinking. The rich sequence of art experiences linked to ‘Bear Hunt’ was very inspiring. Importance of children feeling they are loved.’ ‘Such an amazing, interesting, thought provoking and inspiring presentation. Would love to hear more.’ ‘Very engaging. Lots of ideas to feedback to colleagues and implement. More risk taking in my setting.’ ‘Loved having the opportunity to ask questions and have questions answered from Neil. Good, real examples for us to use right away.’ ‘Let’s get rid of chairs and get a sofa!! Messages about risk taking have changed so much. It was lovely to come away today feeling more confident about allowing children to take more risks.’ ‘Informative, useful, funny and inspiring. Could use his ideas to inform my practice from tomorrow., especially about the INTENT of the curriculum in different years.’ ‘Loved the link between art and ‘We’re going on a bear hunt.’ I hope to improve my planning around stories and extend creativity.’ Thank you once again for your inspiring input. Best wishes
